How do I schedule an initial session?
There are several ways to schedule an initial session:
You can call our intake line at (773)242-9523 and our intake coordinator will assist you in finding a therapist that will be a good fit for what you are looking for. That therapist will contact you directly (typically within 4 hours) to schedule an initial intake session.
You can email us at info@fullercounseling.com. Our intake coordinator will contact you to discuss what you are looking for in a therapist and will connect you directly with that therapist to schedule.
Under the “Contact” tab on our website, you can click “book an appointment online.” A list of available therapists will appear and you can schedule directly online.
Under the “Contact” tab on our website, you can also fill out our online inquiry form that will allow you to choose a therapist preference and tell us a little about what you are coming in for. Our intake coordinator will reach out to you within 24 hours to match you with a therapist if possible.
How quickly can I get in for an initial session?
We are typically able to see a new client within 48-72 hours of the initial contact.
How frequent are sessions?
Frequency of sessions will be determined by you and your therapist. While we always recommend that at the start of therapy, clients come in weekly for the first 4-6 sessions to establish both rapport within the relationship and a plan for treatment, we try to accommodate each individual client’s needs and scheduling circumstances. Following initial sessions, we determine the need for frequency of sessions based on the client’s individual needs and circumstances, which could be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
How long are therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions are typically 55 minutes long.
How long does therapy last?
Length of time for therapy varies by client and based on presenting issues. This will be discussed with your clinician throughout treatment.
What is my first session like?
Your first session will be an intake session with your therapist who will discuss with you what issues might be bringing you in at this time. The clinician will gather information from you about various areas of your life such as family life, relationship history, work or school stress, among others and then will work with you to create goals for therapy.
How do I know which therapist is the right fit for me?
We offer bios on our website about each individual therapist and what areas they specialize in. If you aren’t sure or need additional information, we will be happy to assist you. You can either call (773)242-9523 or email us at info@fullercounseling.com. Someone will return your message within 24 hours.
Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes! All of our therapists offer both in person and telehealth sessions.
Do you bill my insurance directly?
Yes! We submit all claims for clients that are in network with our therapists.
What if I want to see a therapist that is out of network with my insurance?
If you choose to see a therapist that is out of network with your insurance plan, we will provide you with superbills that you can submit to your insurance directly for reimbursement for out of network providers. Fees for these services will be collected at the time of service and will be charged as self-pay fees. We will happily work with you to provide any documentation necessary for you to receive reimbursement for these sessions.
